Restaurant La Loco

Serving authentic dishes prepared from fresh produce, La Loco restaurant lives up to its “Maître Restaurateur” label. In the summer of 2015, La Loco received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, awarded on the basis of excellent scores given by travellers.

For our décor, we opted for a mixture of Old and New, bringing together Authentic and Modern. On the one hand, we have a slate floor, genuine wood-panelled walls, a 19th century brass ceiling light and wall lights, and first and foremost a mural of the Saint-Etienne to Lyon railway line. On the other hand, we have programmable LED strip lighting, our upholstery and paintwork is in matching light grey, and we have paintings by contemporary artists.

This cosy restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere offers a menu that varies along with the seasons and the ingredients on sale in the market.

Our focus is on fresh products and original wines, and we make sure everything is homemade so ingredients taste their very best. At lunchtime, the restaurant serves a ‘market fresh’ menu of a choice of 3 main courses and 3 desserts with a glass of wine or a soft drink. In the evening the same menu is available (excluding drinks), or you can enjoy one of our selection platters based around meat, fish, or tapas, depending on your mood.

Mon Jardin Secret offers tasty and generous cooking, to charm the most discerning diner. The sole aim of this delicious cuisine is to do justice to Grandma’s recipes. Enjoy old favourites carefully prepared and made with the best produce, such as stews, rissoles and oven-baked dishes. For desserts, all your senses will tingle at the mere sight of the homemade patisserie displayed on the bar: rice pudding and salted butter caramel, tart with pink pralines, and profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce for chocoholics.

Behind the stove is a passionate woman. Her specialty is scallops with creamed morels. She always takes care to ensure the authenticity of her recipes, while adding a personal touch of modernity, offering healthy and balanced cuisine.

The Escargot d’Or (Golden Snail) restaurant, in the centre of town opposite Saint-Etienne’s indoor market, offers high class traditional cuisine served with a smile, in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Vert Bouteille

Open since 2001, the Vert Bouteille welcomes you to enjoy irs exceptional wine list in a bistro setting.

The set menus offer all the great French classics (homemade terrine, duck, foie gras, St Marcellin, etc.) in addition to our wonderful fondue vigneronne and pierrades. The Vert Bouteille helps you discover French wines by the bottle (about 150 choices) or by the glass. The wine list is constantly changing as the owner (a graduate of Suze-la-Rousse’s Wine University) unearths new vinicultural gems. This “wine restaurant” has always had a policy of low prices for wine, which is what makes it such a success. The Vert Bouteille has two dining rooms and a terrace on the pedestrianised street Martyrs de Vingré.

In a typical decor of stopper, Horn of aurochs proposes a traditional cuisine and required. The reception is friendly and cordial, the owner expresses a contagious good mood and the lace mats give an original touch to this establishment, one is believed as in the house. Genuine stopper inhabitant of Saint-Etienne, this restaurant proposes charcuterie plates, an apron sapper, the lamb’s brains, roasted pig’s trotters, andouillette veal and pork… the whole carried out with fresh ingredients, a real treat for the lovers. The desserts are also exquisite: tarte tatin, creme brulee with vanilla, ceps vanilla ice creams to be recommended particularly… Each day, the blackboard is composed of approximately six suggestions of entrance, of main courses and desserts what to find something with its taste! An excellent address, succulent and friendly!
